About Our South Yarra Salon

Spencer & Co sits at the quieter eastern end of the Toorak Road strip, past the Como Centre, where the road softens from retail into the residential pocket around Rockley Gardens. It means you can usually find a park nearby, and it means the salon does not have the churn of a Chapel Street shopfront.


We keep the floor deliberately small. Fewer chairs means your stylist is not running three heads at once, and it is the reason colour corrections and balayage work here take the time they actually need. Most of our clients come from South Yarra, Toorak and Prahran, and many have been with the same stylist for years.


We are open until 9pm on Thursdays, which is the slot most people book when they cannot get away from the office during the day. It is worth booking ahead for that one.

How to Find Us from Toorak

Head west along Toorak Road from the Village. It is roughly 1 km and about four minutes outside peak. Coming from the Grange Road or Orrong Road end of Toorak, allow a little longer in the afternoon.

Toorak Road parking is City of Stonnington paid and time-restricted, payable at the meter or through the PayStay app. Side streets nearby carry resident permit restrictions in places, so read the signs rather than the car in front of you.


Off-street car parks

If you are booked in for colour or extensions and want to leave the car for a few hours, the Como Centre car park is the closest option, a short walk west along Toorak Road. The Jam Factory car park on Chapel Street is the next nearest.

The Route 58 tram runs the length of Toorak Road, which makes this the simplest option from Toorak. Board heading towards the city at Grange Road (Toorak Village) or Williams Road, and get off at Hawksburn Road / Toorak Road. We are roughly a 300 metre walk back west along Toorak Road, about four minutes. From the Village it is two stops.

By Train

South Yarra station is about a 900 metre walk west along Toorak Road, roughly eleven minutes, and is served by the Frankston, Pakenham, Cranbourne and Sandringham lines. If you are coming from Toorak station, the tram is the easier connection.

A straight walk west along Toorak Road, about 1 km, or roughly thirteen minutes. Flat the whole way and well lit after dark, which matters for our Thursday evening appointments.

Our Toorak Road location puts us within a few minutes of most of the inner south east. Clients regularly travel to our salon from:

    Yes. There is metered street parking on Toorak Road and in the surrounding side streets, and it is generally easier at our end than west of Chapel Street. The closest undercover option is the Secure Parking station beneath the Como Centre at 650 Chapel Street, around a three-minute walk away. Check street signage, as restrictions vary by time of day.

    About 540 metres, or a seven-minute walk. Exit on the Toorak Road side, turn east and walk past the Como Centre.
