Spencer & Co sits at the quieter eastern end of the Toorak Road strip, past the Como Centre, where the road softens from retail into the residential pocket around Rockley Gardens. Coming up from Prahran, that is the appeal. You are still only minutes from Chapel Street, but without the Chapel Street parking scramble, and the salon does not have the churn of a high street shopfront.
We keep the floor deliberately small. Fewer chairs means your stylist is not running three heads at once, and it is the reason colour corrections and balayage work here take the time they actually need. A good share of our regulars come from Prahran, Windsor and Armadale, and many have been with the same stylist for years.
We are open until 9pm on Thursdays, which is the slot most people book when they cannot get away from the office during the day. Saturday mornings fill early too, particularly with clients pairing an appointment with a run through Prahran Market, so it is worth booking ahead for both.
Coming up from Prahran, we are about 400 metres east of the Chapel Street corner, a five minute walk. The easiest landmark is the Toorak / South Yarra Library at 340 Toorak Road, just across the road from us. If you reach Rockley Gardens, you have gone about 100 metres too far east.
