About Our South Yarra Salon

Spencer & Co sits at the quieter eastern end of the Toorak Road strip, past the Como Centre, where the road softens from retail into the residential pocket around Rockley Gardens. It means you can usually find a park nearby, and it means the salon does not have the churn of a Chapel Street shopfront.


We keep the floor deliberately small. Fewer chairs means your stylist is not running three heads at once, and it is the reason colour corrections and balayage work here take the time they actually need. Most of our clients come from South Yarra, Toorak and Prahran, and many have been with the same stylist for years.


We are open until 9pm on Thursdays, which is the slot most people book when they cannot get away from the office during the day. It is worth booking ahead for that one.

The easiest landmark is the Toorak / South Yarra Library at 340 Toorak Road, just across the road from us. If you reach Rockley Gardens, you have gone about 100 metres too far east.

Getting Here by Tram

The Route 58 tram runs the length of Toorak Road and stops within a short walk of the salon door, in both directions. Coming from the city, board at Domain Interchange or anywhere along St Kilda Road and stay on until you pass the Como Centre.

South Yarra Station is roughly 540 metres west of the salon, about a seven-minute walk. Leave the station on the Toorak Road side, turn east, and walk past the Como Centre. We are on the same stretch, a few minutes further along. Every Cranbourne, Pakenham and Frankston line service stops at South Yarra, along with the Sandringham line.

Driving and Parking Near the Salon

There is metered street parking along this stretch of Toorak Road and in the side streets running off it. Our end is noticeably easier than anything west of Chapel Street. Check the signage carefully, as restrictions on Toorak Road change by time of day.

If you would rather not circle, the Secure Parking station under the Como Centre at 650 Chapel Street is the closest undercover option, around a three-minute walk away. It is convenient but not cheap, so for a longer colour appointment the street is usually the better call.

    Yes. There is paid, time-restricted street parking on Toorak Road, managed by the City of Stonnington and payable via meter or the PayStay app. For longer appointments such as colour or extensions, the Como Centre car park is a short walk west.
